While we’re all fighting for equality in 2020, some jobs and positions still have extensive salary gaps between men and women. Unfortunately, looking for a job as a woman is just harder than people think. However, some jobs pay women quite a lot, sometimes even more than men! Here are the best paying jobs for women!
Anesthesiologist
In case you didn’t know, an anesthesiologist determines how much anesthesia a patient receives. Not only that, but they also administer the drug and keep an eye on the patient at all times, to make sure they don’t need more. In short, its one of the hardest jobs in the hospital. As such, these specialists require years of training and a level-head – and earn a large paycheck! For women, the average anesthesiologist makes roughly $281,000 a year.
Pharmacist
Whether its a surgeon, anesthesiologist, or pharmacist, medical jobs often earn quite a bit more than other degrees. However, in order to get that paycheck out, you’ll need to put quite a lot of school hours in! Thankfully, pharmacists rarely need to deal with the incredible stresses of surgeons or anesthesiologists. Instead, pharmacists need to be able to recall large amounts of medical and drug information, all while giving great care. As a result, female pharmaceutics earn an average annual salary of $121,000.
Attorney
You probably already know this, as its constantly references in pop-culture and jokes, but attorneys make some of the best money of any job, regardless of gender. This field is actually surprisingly diverse! However, while this job comes with quite the paycheck, it also comes with more than a few stressors. After all, almost all attorneys all responsibility for another’s life or monetary health, in one way or another. And, just like all other high-paying jobs for women, it requires quite a bit of schooling. However, if you can make it through all that, female attorneys make $115,000 per year!
Computer Programmer
Computer programming continues to grow as a field, and shows no signs of slowing down. Every year, we seem to rely more and more on techonology, and, of course, someone needs to fix and program all those machines! Most computer programmers work for a company, taking care of all computer fixes, research, and development, for many different departments. However, computer programmers can also work freelance and get more freedom than all the other jobs we’ve discussed already. With freedom comes a lower salary, at $70,876 per year.
CEO
True, this job might feel like heaven or a dream that most people just can’t or don’t want to reach. Women CEOs are very rare to meet in a patriarchic society. Yet, while this is a big issue, women who actually get the position tend to have a very high salary, higher than men. CEOs do a lot, including caring for their business and workers, planning the strategic decisions to make themselves known in the market and managing all the major points in the factory. With big responsibilities come big sums, at least $14 million a year on average.
While we discussed the best paying jobs for women, there are a lot more positions to look for, including management analyst, civil engineer, psychologist and more.
