David Gilmour – $2.8 Million

Pink Floyd’s guitarist, David Gilmour, purchased The Astoria, a luxury houseboat worth $2.8 million. Gilmour purchased the Astoria in 1986 because he was taken with its beauty and uniqueness. However, the boat wasn’t designed by Gilmour, or at his instructions. It was actually built in 1911 by Fred Karno, an impresario.

Back then, Karno owned The Karsino, located at Tagg’s Island, and he wanted a houseboat that would dwarf all the other boats to the island. And it definitely worked! The Astoria has a massive deck and sound equipment, as well as windows, balustrades, and canopies. Also, it’s featured in all of Pink Floyd’s videos.
