Leonardo DiCaprio – Belize, Estimated $1.75 Million

Some megastars by mansions or expensive New York apartments with their fortunes. Leonardo DiCaprio, on the other hand, decided to go the investment route and buy an island off the coast of Belize. The island, named Blackadore Caye, is roughly 104-acres in size.

While the island itself cost less than most celebrity mansions, that’s all DiCaprio got: the island. No plumbing, no electricity, no buildings. The actor’s never revealed how much he put into the island, but its easily in the millions. However, DiCaprio has a way to make his money back. He’s turning a portion of the island into a residential area and eco-resort. It will feature 36 homes, selling at $5 million each, and 36 resort villas. Smart move! That’s a way to keep earning, even after retiring!
