Love Halloween, horror movies, October, and all things spooky? Well, two companies are looking for the ultimate horror fan – they’re going to pay someone $1,000 to binge 24 hours of scary movies!
Dream Job For Halloween
Companies CableTV.com and HighSpeedInternet.com have teamed up for the ultimate horror competition. They are looking to pay one horror film freak $1,000 to binge-watch 24 hours of terrifying content. Scaredy-cats are not welcome! Out of those brave enough, the companies will select one lucky fan to win the big prize. “We want a self-starter because you get to decide what to watch,” the companies said on the official contest page. “Also, 24 hours is only 1,440 minutes, and most movies are only 90–120 minutes. That’s only 12–16 movies. So real-deal horror dorks, who fantasize daily about curating a horror film marathon, will need time to pare down their lineups.”
How can one participate? The single rule is very simple. The official participant has to be over 18 – that’s it! “Most importantly, you’re a big horror fan – cause we don’t hire posers (not even as interns). You should prefer cult films to blockbusters and probably read Rue Morgue and BloodyDisgusting.com to learn about upcoming fright films,” the companies continued.
Additionally, those who wish to enter need to write a short, 100-word piece about why they think they would make the best candidate for the competition. The deadline for the applications is Friday, Oct. 19th at 11:59 p.m. Winners also have quite a bit of freedom when it comes to what movies they want to pick…
Apply Today!
The 12 to 16 movies can come from any streaming service desired, which the winner will review afterward. For those who don’t know, both CableTV.com and HighSpeedInternet.com research and review different types of internet and streaming services. So, they’ll be taking the opportunity to not only publicize their brands, but also review various streaming services for Halloween.
Other than that the movies need to be streaming, the winner can choose whatever they want, from horror classics to modern frights, indie favorites to big-budget blockbusters. “All we ask is that you live-tweet the marathon. The world wants to see your passion for horror beating inside your chest. And what’s an all-night horror marathon without friends?” CableTV.com and HighSpeedInternet.com wrote on the contest page.
In addition to the $1,000 prize money, the companies will also send the winner a massive bag of Halloween candy and a $50 Starbucks gift card. They’ll certainly need some coffee to stay up for 24 hours straight! If you think you’re brave enough to handle the horror movie marathon, head on over to the contest page and enter.
