There’s one lonely home in Rhode Island with nothing but nature surrounding it. However, no one seems to want it. Why? Well, the property has a hidden twist – the house comes with its own island!
This House Comes With Island

Have the coronavirus lockdowns made you discover that you’re an introvert? Well, then we have the property for you! One beautiful home, Patience Island near Portsmouth, Rhode Island, will only suit a self-starter and someone that doesn’t mind spending that much time alone. The home itself spreads across 600 square feet; however, it sits on a 210-acre island. That’s right! And anyone can purchase the entire thing – if you have $399,900 lying around, that is. Since the new owner will receive both the house and the island, it’s no wonder that Rhode Island Real Estate Service worker Michael Russo stated that it’s a “once in a lifetime opportunity.”
For those curious, the home, located at 0 Patience Way, the only “road” on the island, has everything one could want. In addition to the 600-square-feet of living space, the home also comes with “2 bedrooms, kitchenette, half bath, one solar panel and a picturesque front porch.” The grounds also feature a natural well with drinkable water. While it might seem perfect for a loner, as stated, they also need to be a self-starter. After all, there’s no electricity on the island. The new owner will need to set up the solar panel themselves! “There is no traditional electric service and the well is manual, but could be modernized with a pump,” Russo said.
Is It Convenient?

Meanwhile, Russo and others have been very upfront that whoever owns the island does not need to live there. They could, with a bit of hard work, turn it into a vacation destination. “Perfect for comfortable camping, getaways, amazing airbnb potential & more,” the listing reads.
Of course, after the home and island combo hit the internet, the posting soon went viral. Many around the internet said they would love to live there, if they could only afford it. “Amazing, this will go fast!” one said while others asked various questions in the comments. Of course, one of the biggest questions of all was about how much it would actually cost to live on the island. As many have pointed out, while a dash under $400,000 will earn you the house and island, it will cost much, much more to make it livable. For instance, there no WiFi, nor can anyone living there take a regular bath or shower. Still, we’re sure someone will pick up this incredible property soon enough! In the end, this idea certainly could pay off, for the right person.
Over the years, owning one’s own island has become something of a sign of megastardom. Celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio and Sir Richard Branson own completely private islands. Meanwhile, other luxury islands, with all the amenities, like The Sweethearts Islands or Song Saa in Khmer, can be rented per night. For $1,000, that is.
