John Daly’s Big Night Out
Let’s face it, many of us have been there: drinking just a bit too much and then developing an insatiable desire for greasy fast food. Of course, after you hit up McDonald’s or Taco Bell and make your giant order, you usually end up feeling bad. However, few have ever ordered $500 worth of fast food in one go – but golfer John Daly is one of the few! After all, when you’re one of the best-known golf stars of all time, you can afford to spend $446.10 at Taco Bell. It surely must have been one delicious night!
So how did the golf legend end up racking up a nearly $500 bill from Taco Bell? Well, he posted a small portion of his Uber Eats receipt to his Instagram story. It included ten Spicy Double Steak Grilled Cheese Burritos (totaling $77.90) and another ten Crunchy Taco Supremes (totaling $28.70). The menu also included five Grilled Cheese Burritos (totaling $22.15), one Beef Burrito ($1.79), and a whopping 20 Mild Sauce packets. That’s right!
While we don’t know precisely how the rest of Daly’s meal played out, he almost certainly could have brought the total down with some combo meals. After all, as Golf Dieges Magazine pointed out, “The whole point of Taco Bell, other than ruining your body for the next 24-to-48 hours, is that you can craft a massive order and it comes out to like $27.” But that’s not exactly something an intoxicated person thinks about!
Thankfully, Daly had a sense of humor about it all…
The Taco Bell Incident
Daly posted the Uber Eats order to Instagram, captioning the photo, “Don’t drink and order Taco Bell on Uber Eats.” While we don’t know the rest of Daly’s order, it’s important to point out that his total would have included Uber Eats’ fees and his (hopefully huge) tip to the driver. So, it’s not as though he spent all of the $446.10 on Taco Bell food. However, the bulk of it came from the order!
The fast-food incident occurred in Miami, where Daly played in the Trump Touring Pro Tournament. While he might not be the biggest name in golf anymore, his dinking and partying have remained the stuff of legend. In case you didn’t know, the version of an “Arnold Palmer,” a half lemonade, half iced tea, is named a “John Daly.” That’s right! So, it’s probably pretty safe to assume that this drunken Taco Bell order is on par for a typical John Daly tournament weekend.
