Actress Jennifer Aniston decided to raise money for coronavirus in a rather interesting way. She decided to auction off a risque photo of herself to raise funds for COVID-19 relief!
25-Year-Old Nude Portrait To Beat Coronavirus
The portrait Aniston‘s putting up for auction was taken over 25 years ago, in November 1995. The monochrome picture, by Mark Seliger, shows the actress nude, but covered by her crossed legs. “My dear friend @markseliger teamed up with @radvocacy and @christiesinc to auction 25 of his portraits – including mine – for COVID-19 relief,” she wrote along with the post. “100% of sales proceeds of this portrait will go to @NAFClinics, an organization which provides free coronavirus testing and care nationwide to the medically underserved.”
The National Association of Free & Charitable (NAFC) Clinic, founded in 2001, strives to bring fantastic healthcare to everyone in the United States, regardless of their income. Meanwhile, the charity has also been recognized for how well it spends money donated. In fact, it won the GuideStar 2020 Platinum Seal of Transparency! That means that whoever wins this fantastic photo of Aniston will feel confident that their money is going to a good cause.
Jennifer Aniston and Mark Seliger
Along with the auction announcement, Aniston revealed how the photo came to be. “That pose was something I’d worked out in a pre-light, and I thought it would keep it very organic and classic feeling. I wanted to have a sense of formality to it, and the pose just seemed to work out really well,” Seliger explained. It simply goes to show just how professional Seliger is that Aniston felt so comfortable with him. Meanwhile, other celebrities, including Kim Kardashian, Drew Barrymore, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, have also trusted him with the intimate process.
After working with Aniston during the second season of Friends, Seliger began working with the whole cast for the show’s remainder. Now the two plan to reunite once it’s safe to do so! “It’s a process of making interesting imagery, and she’s particular but very open to sharing her ideas. She’s always been like that,” Seliger stated. “I’ve given her a lot of crazy ideas, and she’s always been open to trying, even though some of them don’t work out. She’s always there and very willing to go along with it.”
There are plenty of other celebrities, like Oprah, Bruce Springsteen, and Barack Obama, who are also taking place in the auction for The National Association of Free & Charitable. Though, none of the others are selling nude photos!
